Jarrett Ellzey and Leigh Montgomery of Ellzey and Associates secured another win in Hidalgo County, Texas. Ochoa v. Quraishi, M.D. was initially filed in October, 2019. Our client, Ms. Ochoa, filed claims of assault and false imprisonment against her former employer. A jury held her former employer, Rafath Quraishi, M.D., responsible for his actions. On Friday, January 22, 2024, verdict was reached after a weeklong trial. Jurors found clear and convincing evidence that Dr. Quraishi did indeed assault Ms. Ochoa and falsely imprison her at his clinic in Edinburg, Texas. The lawyers representing Dr. Quraishi were Jeremy Masten of the Masten Law Firm, Sameer Ahmed of the Ahmed Law Firm, and Efrain Molina, Jr. of the Law Office of Efrain Molina.
